Senior System Integration Engineer

About the Company

PsiQuantum's mission is to build the first useful quantum computers—machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Our architecture is based on silicon photonics, leveraging advanced semiconductor manufacturing to build million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems.

Responsibilities

• System integration of electro-optic components through racks, ducts and cryostats
• Define overall system connectivity for complex systems and subsystems
• Rack layout design, documentation, and bring up procedures
• Support design leads in acquiring equipment for subsystem operation and testing
• Design smaller subsystems to enable validation of boxes and subsystems
• Write and maintain connectivity, integration, and system performance documentation
• Maintain rack and top-level system designs, including optical and electrical connectivity BOMs
• Use Python scripting and Controls SW APIs to control lab equipment and proprietary systems
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Electronics Design, Validation, and Quantum Operating Software teams

Requirements

• M.S. or PhD in Physics, Optical or Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of industry experience
• 3+ years of industry experience validating and testing optical systems
• Experience in complex system integration and fiber networking
• Experience with optical test equipment (power meters, OBR, OSA)
• Expertise in cross-functional product development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise with advanced fiber optic technologies (sensing, timing, or clock distribution)
• Knowledge of optical transmission systems, laser sources, and optical fiber to die coupling technologies
