Senior System Engineer Cloud Storage

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain a robust, efficient, and forward-looking storage architecture for the STACKIT sovereign cloud.
• Ensure the stability and availability of highly resilient storage infrastructure, including Block, Object, Backup, and File Storage.
• Manage incident and problem management processes, including major incident handling and post-mortem analysis to implement mitigating measures.
• Automate provisioning and operational processes within the storage environment to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform performance analysis and proactive capacity planning to support future scaling of the landscape.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the architecture, operations, and troubleshooting of storage systems, specifically NetApp ONTAP or NetApp StorageGRID.
• Deep experience with storage protocols including NFSv3, NFSv4.x, NVMe-oF, and S3.
• Practical experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or OpenTofu.
• Strong scripting or programming skills in Golang, Python, or Bash.
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Kubernetes (K8s) within containerized system landscapes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of German language skills.
