Senior System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and operate computer systems, network devices, and virtualization
• Manage system security, software updates, and change control procedures
• Handle capacity, storage planning, and database performance
• Install and upgrade computer components and software, including virtual servers
• Ensure IT environment compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
• Perform regular backup operations and implement disaster recovery and failover procedures
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors through diagnostics and documentation
• Lead helpdesk support efforts for desktop applications and workstations
• Participate in internal and external audits
• Communicate with vendors and third-party support companies

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 7+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure
• Experience with GxP systems, controlled change, and patch management
• Working knowledge of virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure, or AWS)
• Strong knowledge of cloud, systems, networking software, and hardware
• Experience with scripting and automation tools like PowerShell
• Expertise in security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery (Veeam)
• Proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy

Preferred Qualifications

• System administration or IT certifications in Linux or Microsoft
• Experience in a multi-cultural international organization
• Experience working within a commercial organization
