About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all surveying operations for the Mobile River Bridge construction, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications
- Develop and implement surveying plans, methodologies, and best practices to optimize field data collection
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of surveyors and field personnel
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align design intent with field execution
- Utilize advanced technology including GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones to capture and analyze data
- Conduct quality control checks to verify survey accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements
- Manage survey data processing and integration with project management and BIM software
- Ensure all activities comply with safety standards, local, state, and federal regulations
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field
- Proficiency in using survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Proficiency in survey software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply algebra and geometry concepts (area, volume, proportion, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in the field (approximately 50% of the time) and adapt to changing project conditions
