Senior Surveillance Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Conduct T+1 Trade Surveillance for Equities using Nasdaq SMARTS and other required tools
• Escalate suspicious activity findings to management and report to relevant regulators
• Develop and enhance the surveillance program through continuous control evaluation and the development of new controls
• Engage with Equities trading businesses to understand trade flows, booking models, and operating models
• Identify trends and patterns requiring further evaluation with Compliance Advisory or Business management
• Calibrate alert thresholds to ensure effective and efficient operation of Equities controls
• Maintain appropriate audit trails and documentation for all work undertaken and decisions reached
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements under the FCA, NFA, AMF, AFM, MAS, and other relevant bodies

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Trade Surveillance, including MAR scenarios and vendors
• Essential experience using Nasdaq SMARTS or similar surveillance tools
• Proven experience working within a highly regulated financial environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take high levels of responsibility in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong collaborative skills with experience managing various stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree level education in a related subject
• Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA or Python for tactical control development
