Senior Supplier Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware used in Starlink user terminals
• Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to understand design intent
• Support procurement by assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
• Create and define supplier technical and quality requirements for NPI and production phases
• Lead resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause analysis
• Implement and monitor the production part approval process (PPAP)
• Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify systemic performance gaps
• Identify and drive product and process improvements to lower cost and reduce supply risk
• Manage mission-critical supply chain through excellent supplier relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
• 6+ years of experience in supply chain engineering, supplier development, manufacturing, or design engineering
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the work week
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, business, or supply chain
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Proven track record of project ownership and cost reduction negotiation
• Knowledge of statistical techniques such as Six Sigma or Design of Experiments
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of metrology tools and techniques for mechanical parts
• Knowledge of lean, production, and supply chain concepts
