Senior Subsystem Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review sub-system design including integration of optics, electronics, firmware, software, and thermal design
• Design and build laboratory setups using light sources, detectors, switches, function generators, and oscilloscopes
• Develop software scripts for data collection and analysis
• Develop software scripts and algorithms to extract key performance parameters
• Design and run experiments to validate subsystem design functionality
• Write validation plans for the characterization of new sub-system designs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science
• 6+ years of industry experience
• 5+ years of experience validating and testing optical systems
• Experience with optical and electrical test equipment (power meters, OBR, OSA, Oscilloscopes, AWG, VNA)
• Experience with high-speed electro-optical devices (modulators, RF detectors, pulsed lasers, optical sampling oscilloscopes)
• Experience developing test methods, optimization, and tuning/calibration algorithms
• Ability to write scripts to communicate with and control instruments

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with programming CPUs to interface with FPGAs
