Senior Subcontracts Manager

Responsibilities

• Perform subcontract management functions for sponsored programs in support of the Materials Sector
• Review documentation including requests for proposals, draft subcontract documents, and cost analyses
• Independently conduct subcontract negotiations and monitor performance
• Oversee complex invoice approval and closeout processes
• Assist the Subcontracts Team Lead with overall management of the subcontract administration function and support staff
• Advise Principal Investigators, senior management, and support personnel on University subcontracting policies, procedures, and federal research regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Eight years of related experience
• Three years of purchasing or subcontracting experience in government contracting or research administration fields
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal procurement regulations, including FAR and DFAR
• Significant negotiation experience in purchasing or subcontracting
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including contract drafting experience
• U.S. citizenship is required due to federal research contract requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or coursework towards an advanced degree in a related field
• Ten or more years of related experience
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint
• Advanced knowledge of federal procurement regulations and federal grant regulations
• Advanced contract drafting experience
