Responsibilities

  • Maintain and advance reduced-order beam element analysis tools written in Julia
  • Build and maintain automation pipelines transitioning designs from reduced-order models to high-fidelity FEA
  • Collaborate with Marine Ops, Manufacturing, and ME teams to analyze critical load environments
  • Own the mass estimation process for candidate devices
  • Verify automated results using classical hand calculations and Nastran FEA
  • Leverage Docker, GCP, and PostgreSQL/Python to manage simulation data and cloud workloads
  • Act as the structural simulation lead for novel primary structures

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in structural analysis and software/tooling development
  • Proficiency in Julia and Python
  • Deep understanding of structures, preferably large-scale steel structures
  • Familiarity with marine-specific load environments
  • Experience with Git, Docker, and cloud computing (GCP/AWS/Azure)
  • Working knowledge of Nastran or similar solvers
  • Ability to use AI for code generation and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in computational mechanics or structural dynamics
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or relational databases
  • Experience building human-in-the-loop automation tools
