Senior Structural Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Investigate design-build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions
• Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues in a timely manner
• Disposition aircraft non-conformances, including rework instructions (MRB)
• Perform aircraft and engineering drawing investigations in coordination with Quality Assurance and manufacturing representatives
• Design Flight Test engineering change requests and coordinate with work package owners
• Author engineering to define structural special instructions or restrictions
• Design and release Special Missions Engineering structural and systems installations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or a related discipline)
• Minimum of 10 years of industry experience
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) per ITAR requirements
• Proven experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications
• Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications
• Experience leading a team of engineers
• Minimum of 15,000 hours of experience using CATIA V5
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in CATIA V5 Workbenches: Assembly Design, Part Design, Aerospace Sheetmetal, Tubing Design, Kinematics, and Electrical Harness Routing
• Experience with Siemens NX
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM
• General aircraft or manufacturing industry experience
