Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, size, and analyze new structure and potential repairs to safely and effectively carry load adhering to spatial and regulatory requirements
• Conduct trade studies across multiple variables and clearly present results and recommendations
• Perform static analysis using textbook hand calculation methods, including classical laminate theory
• Generate, review, and query loads/stresses from finite element models ranging from aircraft scale to detailed component scale
• Author, review, and/or approve engineering strength and analysis reports, structural analysis processes, and enterprise tools
• Work with various company departments to ensure integrated structural designs meet all system and aircraft-level requirements
• Develop and coordinate Building Block test programs and conduct necessary test programs to validate structural architecture
• Generate, review, and/or approve structural test plans, reports, and compliance documentation

Requirements

• Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university
• Experience with composite and metallic structures
• Knowledge of principle and primary structural elements
• Experience in load path optimization and joint analysis (bolted and bonded)
• Ability to identify critical failure modes

• Experience with Simcenter 3D
• Experience with Altair Hyperworks
• Experience with FEMAP
• Experience with Nastran
• Experience with Optistruct
