About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead structural simulations and optimisations across critical car systems
- Perform advanced structural analyses using linear/nonlinear, buckling, fatigue and optimisations
- Conduct composite structure analyses leveraging laminate theory and ply-level failure criteria
- Collaborate with design groups to refine load paths and influence design evolution
- Define, scrutinise, and validate structural load cases for regulatory compliance
- Prepare high-quality documentation and present findings in technical reviews
- Lead initiatives to improve analysis workflows and modelling accuracy
- Mentor and supervise junior and graduate structural engineers
Requirements
- Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
- Expert proficiency in finite element and conventional hand calculation methods
- Advanced proficiency in HyperWorks and/or Abaqus
- Strong experience with composite material analysis and optimisation techniques
- Proficient in CAD-FEA integration and automation scripting (e.g., Python, TCL)
- Knowledge of fatigue and damage tolerance is desirable
- Excellent communication and cross-functional influence skills
