About the role
Responsibilities
- Gather, maintain, and analyze technical data for engineering research, design, development, and testing.
- Apply specialized knowledge to develop and maintain analytical tools to understand product behavior.
- Compare product capabilities and performance against established requirements.
- Document findings in technical reports, specifications, drawings, manuals, and test procedures.
- Interface with management, engineers, customers, and suppliers to provide project status and ensure analytical requirements are met.
- Utilize structural models, finite element methods, and aerodynamic principles to determine aircraft loads and aeroelastic stability.
- Apply aircraft structures design procedures and regulations to provide engineering data products.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in structural analysis, stress engineering, or a related engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
- Experience with structural analysis tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, ABAQUS, or ANSYS.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) methods and modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of aircraft structural analysis principles, including loads, stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and models, including GD&T.
- Exposure to aerospace materials and structural behavior, such as aluminum and composites.
- Understanding of engineering change processes, configuration management, or product lifecycle management systems.
