Senior Stress Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform structural stress analyses using FEA and hand calculations from preliminary design through final part release
• Provide clear and traceable documentation of all analysis work via formal Stress Reports
• Oversee and coordinate the work of other Stress Analysts assigned to related components
• Support damage and defect investigations to ensure accurate root cause identification
• Monitor in-service behavior of car parts, including trackside usage and structural testing
• Create and maintain test procedures in collaboration with the R&D Testing Department
• Collaborate with the Stress Methodology group to improve calculation and sizing methods
• Provide occasional trackside support during race weekends or testing events

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
• Extensive senior-level stress analysis experience
• Previous engineering experience in Formula 1
• Strong understanding of carbon and metal structures
• Deep knowledge of FEA theory and pre/processing tools (Altair Hypermesh/Optistruct or Abaqus)
• Knowledge of current manufacturing processes including CNC and DMLS
• Ability to travel up to 20% (approximately one week per month)

• Previous experience using Siemens-NX
