Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical customer advocate, designing fit-for-purpose solutions and driving technical wins for the Cloudflare portfolio
• Work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams to ensure customer success
• Create scalable solutions that meet specific customer needs and drive adoption roadmaps
• Explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms to diverse stakeholders
• Manage projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize competing demands effectively

Requirements

• Business fluency in German
• Strong understanding of "how the internet works," including TCP/UDP and the differences between application types
• Deep knowledge of DNS (authoritative vs. recursive)
• Understanding of firewalls, TLS (SSL), and strong HTTP knowledge
• Ability to explain ROI and how customers make buying decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pre-sales Solutions Engineer or consulting role
• Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash
• Experience building or contributing to web applications
• Detailed understanding of web security vulnerabilities like CSRF, XSS, and SQLi
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, or SOC-2
• Exposure to emerging trends like SASE and Zero Trust
