About the role
Responsibilities
- Design plumbing systems, components, and secondary structures
- Analyze systems and components in harsh launch environments
- Model systems to characterize and predict behavior at all conditions
- Test and qualify systems, components, and modules
- Manage requirements and implementation within the launch vehicle context
- Integrate hardware into the vehicle
- Review testing data to optimize future designs
- Collaborate with propulsion, structures, and flight software teams
- Create tools to enhance analysis and streamline workflows
- Mentor and grow peers to strengthen the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
- 5+ years of experience in a hardware rich environment
- Experience with fluid component design (valves, pressure vessels, flex elements, fittings)
- Experience with DfM/DfAM, machining, and welding processes
- Understanding of mechanical drafting and GD&T
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment
- Experience with oxygen, methane, and/or cryogenic systems
- Proficiency with Siemens NX & Teamcenter
- Advanced degree in a fluid mechanics-heavy field
- Experience with Aerospace Processes and Standards (JIRA, AS9100)
