Senior Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers to develop digital solutions including order management, customer management, and vehicle connectivity
• Partner with product and design teams to make technical tradeoffs and support system requirements
• Assess and recommend key tools and technology decisions for the digital product ecosystem
• Develop scalable, functional, and reliable software products and integrations
• Design, code, deploy, and operate technical architecture and systems
• Identify and lead large-scale technical projects to evolve and scale early-stage products
• Champion software engineering excellence by establishing metrics and processes
• Recruit and manage a high-performing team of software engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and scaling software products
• Experience with ecommerce, payments, digital products, and backend platform development
• Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, and complex backend systems
• Strong coding skills in GoLang, Java, Kotlin, or Swift
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile
• Experience in startup settings and launching 0 to 1 products
• 4+ years of experience leading high-performing software engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building data pipes, AI/ML, and web/mobile analytics
• Experience building systems within the automotive industry
• Full-stack development experience
