About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated Security Engineering partner for the Ripple Treasury business unit, owning the security posture of the Treasury solution and infrastructure.
  • Lead threat modeling and security architecture reviews across all Treasury offerings.
  • Own the secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) by defining security guardrails, CI/CD integrations, and developer guidance.
  • Drive cloud security architecture across Azure and AWS, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and zero trust controls.
  • Partner with GRC to ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and applicable financial regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage vulnerability discovery through security assessments, penetration testing, and bug bounty programs.
  • Build and scale a Security Champions model within Treasury Engineering to extend security reach.
  • Mentor and develop Security Engineers through technical leadership and structured knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Security Engineering experience, including hands-on work in Product and Infrastructure Security.
  • Expert-level skills in threat modeling (STRIDE), security architecture review, and OWASP Top 10.
  • Deep expertise in securing cloud environments (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP), including IAM, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating DevSecOps tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets scanning).
  • Strong software engineering proficiency in Python, Go, or equivalent languages.
  • Deep understanding of cryptographic principles and key management (HSMs, MPC, PKI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in FinTech, crypto, blockchain, or high-stakes financial environments.
  • Experience managing security in environments where failures have direct systemic financial impact.
