Senior Staff Security Engineer, AI

Responsibilities

• Drive the AI Security technical strategy and roadmap, defining how Ripple secures its AI systems and governs agentic workflows
• Design and implement security controls for LLM-integrated and agentic AI systems, including sandboxing and runtime monitoring
• Own AI security across the Controlled Agentic SDLC, establishing guardrails and audit trail controls
• Lead security reviews and risk assessments for all AI integrations, including LLM APIs and SaaS copilots
• Build and scale Shadow AI detection capabilities to surface unsanctioned AI usage
• Serve as the primary technical resource on agentic AI risks like prompt injection and tool poisoning
• Shape Ripple's external AI security posture by contributing to industry frameworks and engaging regulators

Requirements

• 10+ years of Security Engineering experience in domains like Product Security, Cloud Security, or SecOps
• Meaningful hands-on exposure to AI or ML security
• Solid understanding of LLM security concepts including prompt injection, jailbreaks, and RAG manipulation
• Experience securing agentic AI systems through sandboxing or permission scoping
• Fluency in cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, Kubernetes, IAM, and API security
• Strong threat modeling skills using frameworks like STRIDE, MITRE ATLAS, or OWASP LLM Top 10
• Ability to work across teams and influence technical direction without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FinTech, crypto, or highly regulated environments
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks like NYDFS, MAS, DORA, or SOC 2
