Senior Staff Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to establish reliability targets for power electronics and battery systems
• Provide Design for Reliability (DfR) inputs during new product development
• Drive Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) to capture performance risks
• Develop ALT Reliability Test Plans using physics of failures methodology
• Track field reliability performance metrics including part replacements and customer complaints
• Drive failure analysis of test and field returns to determine root cause and implement corrective actions

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
• Proven track record of solving complex power electronics reliability failures
• Working knowledge of power converter topologies such as inverters and buck-boost converters
• Deep understanding of physics of failure and failure mechanisms for PCBAs and components like MOSFETs, capacitors, and inductors
• Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques including optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning, and EDX
• Experience with accelerated life testing models for PCBAs, battery storage, and mechanical structures
• Understanding of reliability statistics
