Senior Staff Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage IQC, IPQC, OQC, and ORT across battery cell production lines
• Drive quality readiness at Contract Manufacturers for development builds and mass production ramp
• Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations for quality escapes
• Collaborate with cell engineering to implement quality control, inspection, and metrology stations
• Define and monitor electrochemical quality metrics and drive SPC implementation
• Develop and maintain risk assessments (PFMEA) and implement control plans
• Support DFM reviews and conduct tolerance analysis for electrode stack and cell dimensions
• Develop and execute module and cell reliability test plans
• Ensure manufacturing process controls comply with safety and certification standards (IEC, UN, UL)
• Travel 30–40% internationally to CM sites in Asia

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree/experience)
• Hands-on experience in lithium-ion cell manufacturing and product qualification
• Familiarity with battery-specific metrology (coating weight, electrode thickness, porosity, etc.)
• Strong command of quality tools: DOE, RCCA/8D, SPC, GR&R/MSA, PFMEA, and Cpk/Ppk
• Knowledge of reliability methods: Weibull analysis, HALT/HASS, and accelerated life testing
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience managing CM/OEM quality relationships in Asia
• Working knowledge of battery safety standards (IEC, UL, GB/T, KC, PSE)
• Strong cross-functional communication skills
