Senior Staff Product Designer

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the member-facing experience and set the design vision for complex, high-impact projects.
• Define how AI behaves in high-stakes healthcare contexts, including communication of uncertainty and human-AI handoffs.
• Build functional, high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Develop scalable AI-powered patterns and components to be integrated into Maven's design system.
• Partner strategically with Engineering, Product, Clinical, and Data teams to shape model outputs into intuitive interfaces.
• Mentor designers and non-design partners to foster leadership and independence across the organization.

Requirements

• AI fluency: Daily use of AI tools (Claude, Figma AI, Cursor, etc.) with strong prompting and synthesis skills.
• Vibe coding: Ability to turn ideas into working prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Technical depth: Experience shipping code to production and understanding backend architecture and model behavior.
• Strategic craft: A portfolio demonstrating strategic ownership, navigating ambiguity, and defining success metrics.
• Cross-functional leadership: Proven ability to drive complex projects across multiple teams and influence direction.
• Design expertise: Proficiency in mobile and web design, systems thinking, and designing for complex, scalable ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in healthcare, health tech, or other highly regulated domains.
• Background collaborating with ML and AI teams on model-driven products.
• Experience building or contributing to consumer-grade design systems using Figma variables and advanced architecture.
