Senior Staff Power Electronics Control Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded control systems for PFC, grid-tie, grid-forming inverters, bidirectional chargers, and DC/DC converters
• Validate design concepts through computer simulations and hands-on laboratory testing
• Create automated test cases for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) modelling and testing
• Perform board bring-up and develop device drivers for CAN, I2C, and SPI
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards including UL, IEC, and SAE
• Contribute to specification development and participate in design reviews

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience developing Power Electronics products
• 6+ years of programming experience in C/C++, Assembly, and Python
• Experience implementing control code for power converters without code generation tools
• Strong experience in controller design (PI, PR, droop) and simulation using PLECS, MATLAB, or Simulink
• Background in real-time programming environments (PLL, timers, PWM)
• Experience with grid-tie inverter systems (solar, BESS, EVSE)
• Proficiency in FPGA programming and simulation
• Experience with RTOS and HIL testing
• Skilled in debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
