Senior Staff Network Engineer, Operations

Responsibilities

• Own production reliability for global edge, backbone, data center, and GPU cluster networks
• Lead end-to-end incident response for high-severity network events
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and author remediation plans to prevent recurrence
• Define network SLIs and SLOs in partnership with Architecture and SRE teams
• Author and maintain operational runbooks, escalation playbooks, and SOPs
• Improve network observability using streaming telemetry, SNMP, and NetFlow
• Build Python-based auto-remediation tooling to reduce operational toil
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers to build a culture of operational excellence

Requirements

• 12+ years of production network engineering experience in hyperscale or internet-scale environments
• Hands-on experience with RDMA/RoCE (v1 and v2) lossless fabrics for GPU/HPC workloads
• Expert knowledge of BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, and TCP/IP
• Proficiency with Arista (EOS), Juniper (Junos), and NVIDIA/Mellanox platforms
• Experience with observability tools like Kentik, Grafana, Prometheus, and ThousandEyes
• Proficiency in Python for automation and diagnostic tooling
• Experience defining and owning network reliability metrics (SLIs/SLOs)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
