Senior Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, prototyping, and testing of the thermal management system
• Oversee the development of complex thermal flow system analytical models to drive design decisions
• Direct fabrication and testing strategies for first-of-a-kind prototypes to mitigate technical risks
• Drive overarching strategy for high volume production, optimizing for scale, cost, and reliability
• Lead system-level collaboration with Electrical and Controls teams for actuator and sensor integration
• Mentor engineers and elevate mechanical engineering best practices and safety standards

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 12+ years of industry experience (or 10+ years with Master's/PhD)
• Experience in mechanical design of equipment, liquid or gas handling systems
• Expertise in first-principles modeling and design for high-volume manufacturing
• Experience leading projects in a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record in product development within early-stage environments ramping into production

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry-leading experience optimizing thermodynamic systems and complex fluid system interfaces
• Experience managing strategic relationships with manufacturing engineering teams
