Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer

We are scaling up battery manufacturing to tackle climate change through our high-volume iron-air battery production.

Responsibilities

• Own the development, build, or purchase and deployment of manufacturing workstations and equipment
• Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to the engineering team
• Select and partner with equipment integrators from development through hand-off
• Install, commission, and qualify new equipment and fixtures
• Design, document, and deliver robust processes for safety, uptime, and quality
• Lead debugging and resolution of time-sensitive manufacturing issues
• Collaborate with teams to train labor on new equipment and processes

Requirements

• 14+ years of equipment or manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience in electro-mechanical assembly environments
• Direct experience purchasing and setting up automated manufacturing equipment
• Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Experience providing DFM/DFA feedback to design engineers
• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plastic and metal welding
• Experience with automated assembly, inspection, and test
• Knowledge of human-assist automation or programming automation equipment
• Experience with MES systems
