Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the ML systems behind menu personalization, owning the end-to-end stack
• Take research and experiments to reliable production systems, partnering with Data Scientists
• Shape the personalization roadmap with Product and Engineering leadership
• Operate and instrument systems in production to ensure scalability and observability
• Raise the technical bar through architecture reviews and mentorship
• Drive engineering excellence and set standards for other ML and data teams

Requirements

• 8+ years building and operating production ML systems
• Proven track record of technical leadership at scale
• Experience with architectural decisions that influence multiple teams
• Fluency in Python, Spark, Go, Kafka, and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
• Strong statistical literacy and product sense
• Experience with recommender systems or large-scale personalization is a plus
