About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the multi-year architecture, scalability, and capacity roadmap for NetApp ONTAP, StorageGRID, and enterprise storage infrastructure.
- Drive technical direction for petabyte-scale NFS environments, including performance optimization, Linux filesystem tuning, and hybrid-cloud storage capabilities.
- Architect and support enterprise-scale storage platforms and replication topologies, including ONTAP clusters, FlexGroup, and SnapMirror.
- Diagnose and resolve complex end-to-end performance issues spanning EDA applications, Linux NFS clients, and distributed compute environments.
- Advance automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and ONTAP REST APIs.
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and driving root-cause analysis for critical incidents.
Requirements
- 11+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience, including 5+ years supporting large-scale EDA and HPC environments.
- Expert-level experience with NetApp ONTAP (FlexGroup, SnapMirror, FabricPool, QoS, and REST API automation).
- Deep expertise in Linux filesystems (XFS, ZFS, ext4) and NFS tuning (NFSv3/NFSv4).
- Strong automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Proven experience defining storage architecture for petabyte-scale environments with thousands of clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience as specified).
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth expertise in StorageGRID.
- Experience with parallel filesystems such as Lustre, GPFS / IBM Spectrum Scale, or BeeGFS.
- Experience with hybrid-cloud storage environments like AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP or Azure NetApp Files.
- Familiarity with EDA workload managers such as LSF, Slurm, or Grid Engine.
- Advanced certifications such as NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), RHCE, or VCP.
