Baton Corporation is the development company that builds and operates the entire technology stack behind pump.fun, the largest memecoin launchpad in production today. The systems are low latency, high throughput, live under constant load, and break if you get them wrong.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build high-performance systems across the entire stack, contributing production code in both frontend and backend layers
• Define and evolve cross-stack architecture that scales with user growth and real-time interaction demands
• Lead complex, multi-surface initiatives from system design and RFC through implementation and rollout
• Design clean boundaries between frontend, backend, and blockchain infrastructure
• Anticipate systemic bottlenecks regarding performance, data consistency, and infrastructure limits
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, and observability
• Rapidly prototype and validate new product ideas
• Raise engineering quality through design reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship
• Act as a technical anchor during critical launches, migrations, or incidents
• Improve developer velocity by evolving tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and testing strategies

Requirements

• Proven track record of owning large cross-stack systems serving real users under real load
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modelling, caching, and client–server tradeoffs
• Ability to move fluidly between frontend performance optimization and backend system design
• High-agency and execution-driven mindset
• Experience in high-growth or high-scale environments
• Familiarity with crypto, DeFi, or blockchain systems, specifically real-time interactions or indexing
