Senior Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader for Platform/DevOps initiatives, including systems architecture and design
• Own mission-critical systems including Edge Compute Environment, DevEx/CICD, Observability, and Network architecture
• Evolve software development practices by adopting AI-Native techniques
• Deliver platform features on AWS using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
• Increase resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of production, test, and development environments
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and contribute to root cause analysis
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
• 5+ years of platform engineering, infrastructure, or distributed systems experience in a senior role
• Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Proficiency in at least one language: Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, or Python
• Experience building and operating edge or IoT systems in production
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or equivalent)
• Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and microservices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in AWS services including Kinesis, Lambda, EKS, and RDS
• Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt specifically
• Background in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments
• Experience in physical security, IoT, or edge computing
• Familiarity with hardware-constrained environments (embedded Linux, ARM)
• Track record of building internal developer platforms or SDKs
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
