Senior Staff Engineer, Developer Infrastructure & Experience

Responsibilities

• Define engineering standards, CI/CD infrastructure, and developer platforms
• Architect foundational systems for reliable, testable, and incrementally deployable software
• Own production readiness, including testability, observability, and safe rollback strategies
• Design and implement staged rollout strategies such as canary deployments and blue/green releases
• Establish feature flag and safe deployment practices for gradual rollouts
• Improve developer velocity by eliminating friction in local environments, build speeds, and test infrastructure
• Operate and advocate for AI-assisted development workflows
• Translate requirements between ML researchers, clinical advisors, and product leaders
• Prioritize patient safety as a core engineering design principle

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with production ownership at scale
• Deep backend fluency in Python, Go, or Java
• Strong command of software design patterns including modularity and dependency inversion
• Hands-on experience owning and operating CI/CD pipelines in production
• Experience with feature flags, canary deployments, and progressive rollouts
• Proven impact in improving developer experience and internal tooling
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools like Copilot or LLM-based generation
• Strong communication skills across cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated safety-critical industries
• Familiarity with ML infrastructure, model serving, or LLM evaluation pipelines
• Experience building engineering culture at a high-growth startup
• Background in platform engineering or DevEx
• Hands-on observability experience with structured logging and distributed tracing
