Senior Staff Engineer Design

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of highly complex automotive SoC designs in a multi-site organization covering all aspects of Physical Design.
• Work independently across different phases of the RTL2GDS flow, including Synthesis, Constraints, Floorplanning, Placement, Clock Trees, Routing, and Power Distribution.
• Drive PnR closure for multimillion gate designs in lower technology nodes and perform SoC level IR/EM analysis, debugging, and fixing.
• Focus on PPA (Power, Performance, Area) and define partition shapes, pins, and feedthroughs while following IP integration guidelines.
• Execute SoC level Physical Verification, including chip finishing, metal fill, sealring, and tapeout checks.
• Act as a member of an expert network to drive innovation and methodology for next-generation automotive SoC development cycles.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of experience in Physical Design of highly complex SoCs.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python.
• Strong understanding of industry-standard tools for physical design and signoff.
• Understanding of RTL coding and IP handling (including internal and external IP integration).
• Fluent English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of German language skills is an added plus.
• Experience working within large-scale SoC design teams with high cost and quality awareness.
