About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the internal expert and final authority on UL 2202 and UL 22311/2 requirements to shape product architecture and design.
- Establish and own compliance frameworks for design documentation review, including schematics, BOMs, and firmware.
- Lead engagement with standards bodies and NRTLs (UL, ETL, TUV, CSA, etc.) to influence regulatory interpretations.
- Own the end-to-end certification strategy across the EVSE portfolio, from initial submittal through final listing.
- Direct the development of test plans, evidence packages, and risk assessments.
- Lead root cause analysis for complex certification failures and drive systemic corrective actions.
- Partner with quality and manufacturing leadership to institutionalize ongoing production compliance practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
- Deep expertise in UL 2202 and UL 22311/2 standards.
- Comprehensive understanding of NRTL processes, including listing, follow-up services, and factory inspections.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC Article 625 and SAE J1772/J3068 standards.
- Strong knowledge of EMC/EMI regulations such as FCC Part 15 and CISPR.
- Proven ability to interpret electrical safety requirements including isolation, creepage/clearance, and temperature rise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad background in high-power electronics, inverters, or DC fast charging equipment at a systems level.
- Familiarity with global standards such as IEC 61851 and IEC 62196 series.
- Prior experience working in an NRTL lab or a testing/certification environment in a leadership capacity.
