Senior Staff Engineer, Bioinformatics

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale multi-omic data to delineate technical artifacts from biological signals
• Design and implement novel computational methods to improve signal detection and reduce compute costs
• Develop and maintain robust analysis pipelines
• Build and optimize reproducible workflows in cloud and HPC environments
• Identify and resolve technical artifacts through cohort-level and assay-aware analysis
• Partner with wet-lab scientists to diagnose and address assay artifacts
• Communicate findings clearly and contribute to technical decision-making

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computational biology, computer science, statistics, genomics, or related field
• 6+ years of professional experience in bioinformatics or closely related roles
• Ability to distinguish biological signal from technical noise using statistical, machine learning, and deep learning methodologies
• Proficiency in programming languages used for ad hoc and scalable production multi-omic analyses
• Experience developing reproducible workflows in cloud or HPC environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience optimizing compute costs at scale
• Experience developing commercial products
