Senior Staff Database Administrator/Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server on Linux, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments at scale
• Write and optimize high-performance SQL to meet strict throughput and low-latency requirements
• Architect and manage Always On Availability Groups and cross-platform replication topologies
• Build infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform for repeatable database provisioning
• Develop monitoring and alerting solutions using Prometheus and Grafana
• Automate routine database administration tasks using Shell scripting and Python
• Collaborate with application engineering teams to optimize schema design and query performance
• Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and incident response

Requirements

• Deep operational experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019+ running on Linux
• Production-level administration experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Proven expertise in high-performance SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
• Experience configuring Kerberos and Active Directory authentication for SQL Server on Linux
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management
• Experience building observability dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana
• Hands-on experience operating database workloads within AWS environments
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Elasticsearch, including cluster management and query optimization
• Experience with Redis caching layer design and operational management
• Hands-on experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
• Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and lakehouse architectures
