Senior Staff Attorney

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and serve as an on-the-ground immigration attorney for legal clinics and direct legal services across New York State
• Provide direct limited scope legal services including asylum, SIJS, TPS, and EOIR filings
• Supervise and conduct final reviews of legal services provided by Paralegals and Legal Navigators
• Serve as a legal resource for partner organizations, clients, and volunteers
• Oversee data collection, tracking, and reporting to ensure accuracy and transparency
• Develop and lead training efforts on immigration law for the internal legal team

Requirements

• Licensed attorney admitted to practice in New York
• Five years of relevant professional experience in affirmative and/or defensive immigration law
• Three years of relevant supervision experience, preferably with immigration legal staff
• Expertise in immigrant detention, bond/habeas, survivor-based relief, or humanitarian relief
• Strong community organizing and advocacy skills
• Proficiency in Legal Server, Salesforce, Google Workspace, or Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience conducting outreach in immigrant communities for legal services
