Senior Staff AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year technical strategy and architectural roadmap for the AI platform, including RAG, multi-agent systems, real-time voice, evaluation, and safety.
• Architect foundational platforms and systems used across multiple products, teams, and partners.
• Partner with the executive, product, and clinical leadership teams to translate healthcare goals into technical bets.
• Own the company-wide safety and evaluation bar, setting standards and measurement systems for all agents and models.
• Mentor Staff and Senior engineers and shape hiring and leveling across the organization.
• Represent Hippocratic AI externally through publications, conference talks, and partner engagements.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years of professional experience in software, ML, or AI engineering
• Proven track record of shipping AI or ML-powered products in production
• Strong Python programming skills with experience in distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval systems (RAG)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern DevOps practices (Terraform, CI/CD)
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or deploying LLM-based or multi-agent systems at scale
• Hands-on work with speech recognition, text-to-speech, or streaming architectures
• Prior exposure to healthcare, safety-critical domains, or regulated product development
