Senior Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries for month-end and year-end closing
• Perform monthly GL account reconciliations, including FSA and other complex accounts
• Perform bank transfers, interest allocation, and review bank fees and transactions
• Maintain lease schedules and analyze common area maintenance costs
• Work with independent and governmental auditors to conduct annual and periodic audits
• Perform accounting and reconciliation for CPP, HCBS, and other specialized projects or grants
• Manage Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) program and report uncollectibles to DDS
• Review vendors’ audited financials and track annual compliance per DDS guidelines
• Provide backup support for the Staff Accountant and Controller for bank reconciliations and State claims

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and analysis
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, practices, and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically advanced MS Excel skills
• Ability to develop complex spreadsheets and update databases for audit analysis
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
