Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering (Statistician)

Responsibilities

• Apply statistical methods to a diverse product line to support engineering, operations, and business applications.
• Promote statistical thinking by providing leadership and solutions to cross-functional teams.
• Utilize data analysis, predictive modeling, and simulation tools (including Bayesian methods) to assist in technical decision-making and anomaly resolution.
• Provide sampling recommendations, develop experimental designs, and conduct analyses for product development and process improvement.
• Lead Six Sigma efforts across various sites and support the implementation of statistical quality control methods.
• Communicate complex analysis approaches and results to non-statistical audiences through reports and presentations.
• Contribute to discipline growth by improving procedures, best practices, and introducing state-of-the-art methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience, OR
• Graduate Degree with 4 years of relevant experience, OR
• 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics.
• B.S. in Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Experience with statistical software packages such as Minitab, SAS, JMP, @Risk, R, or Python.
• Familiarity with machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Bayesian methods.
• ASQ Certifications: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, Reliability Engineer, or Quality Engineer.
• Strong technical writing skills.
