Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite engineering expertise at the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) on Patrick Space Force Base.
• Develop system concepts (CONOPS) and deliver comprehensive architectural solutions tailored to mission requirements.
• Define and manage system requirements, including decomposition and traceability, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain detailed system diagrams, interface definitions, drawings, and lifecycle engineering artifacts.
• Support design reviews, readiness reviews, risk identification, and integration planning.
• Lead systems integration, verification activities, and lab infrastructure support.
• Collaborate with product owners and customers to refine requirements and system concepts.
• Apply cloud-based solutions and work within Agile methodologies to manage project timelines and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, OR
• Graduate Degree with 4+ years of prior related experience, OR
• Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Top-Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience with a strong understanding of system architecture and defense development cycles.
• Experience with cloud-based architecture and familiarity with AWS cloud-based services and technical stacks.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo or SysML.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
