Senior Specialist - Footwear Costing Chemical & Compound

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain "should-cost" models for polymer-based compounds including outsoles, midsoles, and speedboards
• Lead formula and market-based pricing discussions with global chemical and material suppliers
• Analyze global petrochemical markets and raw material indices to deliver risk-mitigating forecasts
• Build and standardize databases and tracking tools for chemical materials to support global strategic cost initiatives
• Establish financial and costing frameworks for sustainable polymers
• Partner cross-functionally with Polymer Science, Engineering, Innovation, and Footwear Sourcing teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in material costing, compound development, polymer/chemical engineering, or footwear manufacturing engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Finance, or Business
• Strong understanding of footwear bottom construction and foam technologies
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and financial modeling
• Professional fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLM systems
• Expertise in high-performance materials and manufacturing techniques such as IM, CMP, SCF, and high-pressure injection molding
• Experience with sustainable material solutions and carbon reduction initiatives
