Senior Specialist, Finished Vehicle Rail Network

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement outbound strategy for truck and rail finished vehicle shipments
• Lead creation of SOWs, SLAs, and service provider contracts
• Design and establish routes, lane structures, and network flows with rail and trucking partners
• Build and maintain budgets for rail and truck logistics operations
• Negotiate and execute contracts with Class I railroads, short line operators, and 3PLs
• Monitor railcar fleet capacity, cycle times, utilization, and KPIs
• Partner with IT and TMS teams to implement visibility and track-and-trace tools
• Develop reporting and KPI dashboards for provider performance and network efficiency
• Act as subject matter expert for outbound rail and trucking within cross-functional teams
• Resolve operational issues in real-time and manage escalations

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in finished vehicle logistics (trucking and rail)
• Proven track record managing contracts, SLAs, and SOWs
• Strong knowledge of North American rail networks and Class I railroads
• Experience with TMS, yard management systems, and vehicle tracking technologies
• Experience launching logistics operations in greenfield or new plant environments
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with railcar fleet management and automotive loading operations
• High degree of technical know-how with data and analytics tools
