About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop FPGA Firmware for the Space & Mission Systems segment, focusing on design, integration, and testing of advanced satellite communication and signal processing technologies.
- Architect solutions and implement them in various FPGA technologies or platforms.
- Decompose and allocate system-level requirements to FPGA specifications.
- Synthesize designs to targeted technologies and perform constraint-driven place and route analysis.
- Generate design review documentation, including block diagrams, interface control documents, and test plans.
- Conduct hardware testing and debugging using signal generators, logic analyzers, and digital oscilloscopes.
- Support proposal efforts through estimation and planning of end-to-end FPGA development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 6 years of professional experience, or a Graduate degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
- 6+ years of experience using VHDL/Verilog.
- 6+ years of experience with AMD Xilinx FPGA architectures.
- 3+ years of professional experience with Xilinx Vivado.
- 3+ years of experience in timing closure and optimizing FPGA resource utilization.
- 3+ years of experience debugging at the hardware level.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced verification environments such as UVM, OVM, or System Verilog.
- Proficiency with version control tools like GIT, SVN, or CVS.
- Experience with high-speed memory interfaces, SERDES interfaces, or AXI streaming/control buses.
- Familiarity with FPGA development tool suites such as Xilinx ISE, Vitis, Microchip Libero, or Mentor Graphics ModelSim/Questa.
- Experience with the bring-up of advanced FPGA products such as SoC, MPSoC, RFSoC, or ACAP.
