About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead category strategy development and execution for the Maritime Category Management team
- Analyze spend and develop actionable management strategies across multiple regions and divisions
- Research and benchmark commodity market conditions, trends, and supply chain capacity
- Guide the selection, development, and management of strategic suppliers to meet cost and performance goals
- Lead negotiations and complete contracts with strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits
- Implement a disciplined process for managing the supply base, including periodic business reviews and performance monitoring
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and overall material cost control
- Maintain documentation control in compliance with FAR regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in strategic sourcing or commodity management
- Experience in an MRP/ERP driven manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing contractual terms and conditions
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Graduate degree
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- CPM or similar professional certifications
- Strong understanding of procurement, manufacturing operations, and material logistics
- Global sourcing experience
