Senior Spacecraft GNC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement GNC algorithms for attitude determination, orbit determination, and precision pointing
• Conduct analysis of spacecraft dynamics and perform simulations to evaluate performance and stability
• Design, develop, and test control systems including reaction wheels, thrusters, and magnetic torquers
• Collaborate with spacecraft and payload engineers to define system requirements
• Perform trade studies for optimal GNC configurations regarding power, mass, and cost
• Develop and execute test plans for GNC systems and perform anomaly resolution
• Analyze spacecraft telemetry data to troubleshoot performance issues
• Collaborate with software engineers to develop GNC software modules and interfaces
• Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams including project managers and operations

Requirements

• U.S. Person status required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of professional GNC engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft dynamics, orbital mechanics, and control theory
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python
• Experience with numerical simulation and analysis
• Familiarity with GNC hardware including gyroscopes, accelerometers, and star trackers
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or STK
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
