Senior Southern Unit Peaking Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain peaking station units and auxiliary equipment, including gas turbines, diesels, electrical systems, transformers, and pumps.
• Lead and coordinate the work of crews, contractors, and other employees to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, controls, and mechanical equipment.
• Utilize Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to diagnose software and hardware faults and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee combustion turbine duties, including reporting fuel consumption, maintaining performance records, and conducting tests.
• Maintain accurate written and computer-based logs, work orders, monthly reports, and fuel inventories.
• Assist in developing plant operation and maintenance procedures and implement plant improvements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, technical/vocational degree, or equivalent journey-level experience.
• 2-5 years of experience working with instrument, electrical, control systems, or mechanical equipment.
• Proven experience with DCS programming and configuration.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with an advanced understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to pass company qualification tests.
• Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, climb, crawl, lift, and reach without restriction; must not be color blind.
