Senior Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze satellite network solutions for global commercial and government customers
• Create satellite network solutions for commercial pursuits from initial design through deal closure
• Model and analyze satellite networks using in-house network software
• Interface with Commercial, US Government, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Operations, and Regulatory teams
• Communicate satellite network designs and technical reports to external stakeholders
• Aid in regulatory efforts (FCC, ITU, etc.) regarding spectrum use and coordination
• Dimension ground solutions by working with Earth Stations, Network Operations, and Hub teams
• Shape future product offerings based on market trends, customer feedback, and technical insights
• Maintain relationships with vendors and partners, including hardware and terminal suppliers

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the satellite communications industry, specifically with High Throughput Satellite (HTS) systems (LEO, MEO, or GEO)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
• Proven experience with link budgeting and link analysis
• Experience with regulatory affairs for space-based communications networks
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python (preferred), MATLAB, R, Julia, or C++
• Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco headquarters
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export compliance)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cellular network protocols (3G, 4G, LTE, and 5G)
• Experience with SD-WAN architecture
• Experience working with Military Satellite communications systems
