Senior Solid State NMR Scientist

Responsibilities

• Apply ssNMR to characterize pharmaceutical materials including APIs, excipients, and drug products
• Use quantitative ssNMR methods to measure components of APIs and drug products
• Plan and perform experiments with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with Materials Science colleagues to define characterization strategies
• Solve scientific problems using contemporary Materials Science experimental techniques
• Contribute to the development of new scientific approaches and knowledge
• Maintain accurate entries in the electronic laboratory notebook system

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent with ssNMR expertise, OR B.A./M.S. in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, or chemical engineering with 2-3+ years of ssNMR experience
• Experience with ssNMR sample preparation, data acquisition, and 1D/2D spectra interpretation
• Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with x-ray powder diffraction, polarized light microscopy, DSC, or TGA
• Understanding of vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman)
