Senior Software Serviceability Engineer

About the Company

Humanoid is on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Their HMND-01 Alpha platform is already running in real industrial pilots.

Responsibilities

• Own Design-for-Serviceability for software, ensuring firmware and AI stacks can be diagnosed and recovered in the field
• Collaborate with R&D to build diagnostic scripts, tooling, and self-test routines
• Define software diagnostic content in the Digital Shadow platform, including remote diagnostics and fleet-pattern detection
• Validate software and AI dimensions of service, repair, calibration, and OTA procedures
• Manage firmware, bootloader, and calibration serviceability, including recovery paths for failed updates
• Act as the primary interface between Services and R&D for software escalations

Requirements

• Strong software engineering for robotics or embedded systems (ROS2, Bash, Ubuntu/Linux)
• Proficiency in Python and ideally C++ for diagnostics and automation
• Hands-on experience diagnosing robots or complex electromechanical systems
• Working understanding of sensor and actuator stacks (LiDAR, RGB cameras, motors)
• Design-for-serviceability mindset
• Disciplined engineering practice and version control (Git)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying AI/ML on robots and diagnosing model issues
• Familiarity with remote-diagnostics or fleet-telemetry platforms
• Experience authoring service documentation for non-engineers
• Exposure to Design-for-Serviceability / DfMA on hardware product lines
