Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead moderately complex technical initiatives and contribute to large-scale strategic planning
• Design, code, test, debug, and document projects, including upgrades and deployments
• Review complex technical challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve technical issues and lead teams to meet client needs while adhering to compliance requirements
• Collaborate with peers and managers to resolve challenges and achieve technical goals
• Act as an escalation point and provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on expertise with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise-grade applications
• Experience building and supporting microservices-based architectures
• Solid knowledge of JMS, Kafka, or other messaging and event-driven systems
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL
• Experience deploying and running applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Experience working within Payments or Investment Banking technology platforms
• Familiarity with payment standards such as SWIFT, ISO 20022, or real-time payments
• Experience with cloud-native development, containerization, and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of system resiliency, performance tuning, and high-availability architectures
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical teams
